Pixhawk 2.1 oled update rate slow

PS: while trying to find why this was happening I connected the oled to the I2C2 port and the Pixhawk2.1 led's went out after boot. The led's continued to go out after boot with nothing connected. In the end I had to erase (install plane) and reload AC to get them back and operational. I have not been able to reproduce this yet.
