As i am new to quadplane and fixed wing parameters, I would like to get some guidance. So I really appreciate if someone can share their thoughts.
I was wondering if there’s a way to not fully attempt transition, meaning having the forward thrust and vertical thrust activated to maintain altitude and level flight. The reason I would like to do such attempt is that i am skeptical about the wing design if it is sufficient to produce enough lift in real flight. Also, this correlates with the amount of thrust must be used.
Anyone knows how can I attempt having the vertical thrust not completely off? If this is achievable, then which control loops are activated to maintain stability, the rates to servo (deflection surfaces)?
Another test i am thinking about: Is it possible to do ground tests (not having the drone flying) and do transition to see how motor, and surface deflection behave?
Apologies if my question is not clear or stupid. I am trying to learn and would like to prevent crashing on my first attempt.
Thank you.
