Pixhawk mini relay output

Bathymetric UAV mapping boat construction and getting my feet wet with ardupilot

Assuming a 800kv 12v brushless motor run at the bottom end amperage, what battery system am I looking at for eight hours service. Finally, what are the best resources (discussions or people) for me on the forum going forward. Appreciate any help, thanks.

How can I use RPLIDAR A1 with Pixhawk/Ardupilot?

I’ve also seen a few threads discussing a modified version of “AP_Proximity_RPLidarA2.cpp” that will allow the A1 to work, but I’m so new to all of this that I don’t know what to do with that information. If anyone is using an A1 successfully, I would really appreciate some direction on how to get it working. Thanks in advance!

Motor test link 404

Compass not detected after importing settings

I built it, then uploaded the parameters from the one I was replacing. I got a compass error, and no ID in the compass device ID. So, I figured my wiring was bad. Swapped them. resoldered them, etc… No luck. tested a different compass. Tested this compass in a different copter, etc,etc…

Finally I reset the parameters to the defaults, and then the compass was detected. I restored the parameters again, and then the compass was not detected after rebooting. I cleared the settings again and uploaded everything except the compass parameters, and that worked.

I’ve swapped FC’s before and never had this happen so thought I’d mention it.

Copter-4.0.3-rc1 available for beta testing! Critical (but rare) fix included

The most important fix is the first one which can lead to the autopilot rebooting (via the watchdog) at the moment the RC transmitter is first turned if MAVLink2 signing is enabled. The issue involves memory corruption when “RCInput: decoding xxx” is sent to the ground station. We are so far not aware of any crashes caused by this issue.

I’ve put a few names below that can hopefully help with some of the testing but I’ve probably missed a few names and all feedback is very welcome!

1c) @ulfbogdawa, can you confirm the do-set-servo works with the sprayer?
1d) @vosair, @keilie, can you confirm BLHeli passthrough is working on the CubeOrange?
2) @smartdave, maybe you’re in the best position to confirm the CUAV v5+ connection is working OK now?
4) @JacksonUAS, maybe you could give ZigZag a test?

RPi-4 terminal wireless connection using 3DR

Basically i want to use this system to collect data from the sensors on the RPI board and then send them to my laptop. Cube orange randomly reset parameter to default

GPS_NAVFILTER: best value for plane or boat?

The default for rover, plane and boat is 8 - that means “extremely dynamic 4G-aitcrafts”.

So I’m asking myself, if it would be useful to set that parameter to 6 or 5 e.g. for a boat?
Or to 6 or 7 for a sailplane?

I tested that on desk with a value of 6, and in my opinion the GPS is ready in a shorter time and the position will be hold much better than with a value of 8.

But I don’t know the exact background of that parameter. Will it destroy any necessary functionality if I use 6 or 5?

So could anybody explain the background please.
And if my thinking is correct - what value makes sense for a boat or a sailplane?
Has anybody tested that values?

GPS Glitch is not resulting in EKF failsafe

And according to EKF failsafe logic, which requires two of velocity, position and compass variance to cross the 0.8.

We are able to recover by manually changing the mode to AltHold.

We would like to know a way to make sure EKF failsafe engages. We were thinking of reducing EK2_POS_I_GATE to 3 sigma. Is this correct direction ?

Break in latest master in-flight compass calibration

It appears that the in-flight calibration does not track changes in compass order and only calibrates the primary compass when 2 and 3 are switched in order. Most helpful hardware manufacturers

Mission Planner not detecting Maxbotix sonar for collision avoidance

Mission Planner very slow, Even makes WSL Ubuntu terminal slow

rover

This idea is based on giving ArduRover support for a robotic manipulator, which essentially gives the rover manipulation capabilities which can be extended to ArduSub in the future hopefully .I would like suggestions on how this can be achieved or if this idea seems to be an appropriate one in the first place?

The way I see it this can be achieved through two approaches
ROVER

  • Adding a new mode for rover which when enabled switches the controls of the transmitter to control the arm

  • Create a new vehicle config like balance bot, boats etc

SUB

  • In case of ArduSub a mode can be implemented with the basic capabilities of DepthHold where it holds its position and the control of the joystick can be transferred to control the manipulator momentarily until the manipulation task is completed

Unlike a basic gripper this gives Rover/sub access to manipulate at higher DOFs
