I am using the latest stable version of ArduCopter on my drone and recently purchased an MR72 radar for terrain following. Based on the documentation, I understand that proximity sensors are primarily used for obstacle avoidance, whereas rangefinders are used for terrain following.
Unfortunately, I noticed that the MR72 is only listed under PRXx_TYPE and not under RNG_FNDx_TYPE. Is there a way to use this radar (facing downward) for height measurement in terrain following? I attempted to use the NRA24 setup in the rangefinder configuration, but it was unsuccessful.
